I'm veering from my usual Manic Monday fun and frolic to post a blurb about a terrific writing workshop going on right now at www.romancedivas.com.
This is proving to be a very challenging and insightful workshop about creating compelling conflict. I'm taking copious notes and learning a lot.
Here's the info. The "teacher" is Robyn DeHart:
CREATING COMPELLING CONFLICT
March 25 - April 1, 2006
We all know that conflict is a necessity to good fiction, but with so many acronyms and charts , creating conflict can be downright confusing. We'll take a look at all aspects of conflict, from how to create it within your characters to how to make it strong enough to sustain your plot, but allow for a satisfying ending. We'll dig deep and take a concentrated look on internal conflict and how this applies to your character arcs.
