I survived Christmas.
Do any of you feel that way? That you'll need at least a week to recover from the holidays? And sadly, I don't drink. So it's not an over indulgence of alcohol that's made me feel like I've been run over by a Hummer. Nor is it the virus that invaded my body last week and is still causing havoc to my sinuses and throat. We had two family gatherings in the span of three days. It was insane, and I will never do that again. But it was fun, and there were a lot of laughs and good times, even a pleasant surprise or two.
Outside of the Christmas decorations, which won't go down until after New Year's Day, and the kitchen that is still a disaster zone, the house is pretty much back to normal. The kids are amply amused, at least for the next day or two, thanks to an over-indulgent Santa :) And as soon as I dig my kitchen out, I'm anxious to get back to my regular routine.
Now, off to excavate the kitchen. Wish me luck! And happy-holiday-recovering to all the stressed out, frazzled folks out there. I'm finding relief in the form of Watergate salad (my family calls it The Green Fluff) and Boston cream pie :)
