Submissions Call--Cowboy Roundup

**Forwarded with permission**
I'm thrilled to announce my call for submissions for the Samhain
Cowboy Roundup

Put on Tim McGraw's "Real Good Man", close your eyes and picture a
guy who wears jeans to work and who's real good with his hands, and
let your muse have her way. I'm looking for 3 novellas to fit into
Samhain's Cowboy Roundup Anthology. This anthology will consist of
three novellas to be released individually as eBooks in June 2009 and
combined into one print title in 2010.

I'm open to any romance genre but the stories must end with a HEA.
Submissions are open to all authors previously published with Samhain
as well as authors aspiring to publish with Samhain. Submissions must
be new material—previously published material will not be considered.
Additionally, we will not consider manuscripts previously submitted
whether individually or for past anthologies. Please be aware that
manuscripts submitted to this anthology cannot be resubmitted at a
later date unless by invitation from an editor.

To submit, please include the full manuscript of 24,000–30,000 words
with a 2–5 page synopsis. Also include a letter of introduction/

query
letter if you are an author not previously contracted with Samhain.
Submissions are open until December 1, 2008, and the final decision
will be made by December 24, 2008. Submissions should be sent to
editor@samhainpublishing.com . Please put Cowboy Roundup Anthology
Submission in the subject line. If you receive an auto response, your
submission has been received. Anthologies are special projects exempt
to the general closing of submissions.

I'm happy to answer questions about this anthology either on the
Samhain Author loop, Samhain Café, or by private email at heidi at
samhainpublishing dot com

Passion Unbound: Wanton Nights by Tawny Taylor
cover art by Sahara Kelly
Genre(s): Paranormal, Daemonum, BDSM
Theme(s): Ménage, Bisexual and More
Length: Novella

If you could be kidnapped by any man, who would it be?

And thus it was from the beginning of time. Two knights. One bride. They whispered their story to The Chosen, a human endowed with the gift of Hearing… The Chosen
wrote the story and released it into the human world. The bait was set. The spell was cast. And then they waited… (An excerpt from the Ierd Kimeno, the sacred text of the Twelfth Knight Brotherhood)

Kaitlin Doyle had devoured many a steamy romance novel -- bondage stories, ménage stories, stories about vampires and warriors and werewolves. But her all-time favorite was Her Dark Knights. The heroes, Cayne and Ronan, were fallen angels. Demons! Who would have ever thought that she’d find evil beings so freaking sexy? Or that she’d fantasize about being possessed by two darkly seductive Masters? But still, that was just fantasy. Her naughty little secret. It could never happen in real life.

Then again, maybe it could…

One minute she’s sleeping in her bed, the next she’s dragged into the world of her favorite author’s imagination. And those sinfully gorgeous fallen angels are about to make her darkest fantasies reality. She’d never dreamed it was possible, that she could surrender to her secret desires.

American Title is BACK!

Posted on the Romantic Times blog:

"You may have noticed that we announced in the June issue that the American Title contest would be ending. However, due to popular demand, we talked Dorchester into sponsoring the contest for another year so the AMERICAN TITLE COMPETITION WILL CONTINUE.

Dorchester is currently accepting submissions so polish your manuscripts. To enter, send the first three chapters (no more than 50 pages), a two- to seven-page synopsis and a cover letter (aka query letter) to American Title Contest, Dorchester Publishing, 200 Madison Ave., Suite 2000, N.Y., NY 10016. ALL ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY JUNE 15, 2008.

For American Title V anything goes: historical, paranormal, time-travel, futuristic, romantic suspense, romantic urban fantasy. The only thing we're *not* looking for are straight contemporaries, young adult or women's fiction.

Your manuscript must be completed prior to entering and run between 80,000-90,000 words. Finalists must agree to participate in each of the five competition rounds and must submit copy for ALL five categories by August 15, 2008.

The winner will receive a publishing contract with Dorchester."

*****************
AMERICAN TITLE FAQ ANSWERED BY DORCHESTER

What does "unpublished" mean?

Any author whose work has not been printed as a book may enter the contest. For example:

• If you have been e-published, you're eligible.

• If you have had short stories or anything under 30,000 words appear in a magazine or anthology, you would still be eligible.

• If you wrote a 45,000-word story that was published in print as a stand-alone book, you are not eligible for this contest.

What formatting should I use?

Dorchester does not have any formatting requirements other than that pages are typed, double-spaced, legible and unbound.

How long should the first three chapters be?

We request that the first three chapters not exceed 50 pages. If your book starts with a Prologue, please include that and then the first two chapters.

How do you calculate your word count?

If the manuscript is written in a standard font, our word count requirement generally means it will run about 340-400 pages. Your computer can help give you a rough estimate of what constitutes 80,000-90,000 words, but we won't be tallying them up exactly when the entries come in.

May I enter more than one title?
No. Before we have allowed multiple entries, but since you can only final for one, we now request that you send only one submission.

If you thought erotica authors have cornered the market....

...on naughty, you have GOT to read this: The Pirate and the Pagan (you'll have to page over to the first page--the first sentence is classic!) or this: Dream Lover.

Warning: Do not read with liquid in your mouth.

I need to go pick up some old Virginia Henley :)

Anyone else know of any other authors who've written misleading first pages like that? OMG, what a hoot!

I'd love to hold a contest, asking people to submit opening paragraphs/first pages like these, where you think you're reading about one thing but it's really about something else. Double entendre? Erotic description? Parody? What the heck do you call that? Think anyone would enter? The fun we'd have reading those entries!

Borders.com is Open for Business!

At last, we have another option for online purchases of books and other media--besides Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Borders.com is officially open. I checked out prices for my titles and see they're offering a 10% discount on new copies, the option of searching for used copies, and a third option of reserving the title in a store for pickup. I LOVE that third one! I have a Borders store right down the street. And now, I can do my shopping online, reserve the books I want, then run in and grab them. What a fab feature!

The only drawback--the online reserve system doesn't seem to guarantee the book'll be in stock. Not a problem for me, since I'm not driving a long distance. But if I did, that could be a problem. Also, it looks like you'll end up forfeiting your discounted price if you select the store pickup option, however, with no shipping you're probably still okay.

Here's the page for my latest Aphrodisia release, DARK MASTER.

The site appears to be easy to navigate.
It has a wish list feature.
Other books are recommended, based upon book content.
Reviews can be posted.
It appears you can customize your homepage to some extent. I haven't signed up for an account yet, so I'll need to do that first.

Overall, it looks like the folks at Borders have launched a terrific online bookstore! I'm looking forward to doing some shopping. Has anyone made a purchase already? How was your experience?

TGIF!

This weekend is a holiday. Woot! We don't have big plans, just a cookout with some family on Sunday. It'll be a great day, I'm sure.

Anybody have anything exciting going on?

I've got a lot to do today--cleaning and such, so I thought I'd just post some links to some other blogs that have interesting content today.

DearAuthor blogged about the lawsuit Booklocker filed against Amazon.

Eden Bradley has been posting a series of guest-blogger entries about tattoos. Today's guest blogger is Grand Central Publishing's Lillian Feisty. I recommend you scroll down and read the other entries as well. Some of them are truly touching.

This is a few days old, but it's still very interesting reading: Crystal Jordan posted a blog entry about what she writes versus what she wishes she could write.

This too is a couple of days old, but it's also interesting: Pub Rants talks about readers' and writers' attititudes toward popular books/authors. And in This Post agent Jessica Faust gives some great advice to writers, in regard to popular books.

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend!

An Excerpt from WANTON NIGHTS

Blurb:
Kaitlin Doyle had devoured many a steamy romance novel -- bondage
stories, ménage stories, stories about vampires and warriors and
werewolves. But her all-time favorite was Her Dark Knights. The
heroes, Cayne and Ronan, were fallen angels. Demons! Who would have
ever thought that she'd find evil beings so freaking sexy? Or that
she'd fantasize about being possessed by two darkly seductive Masters?
But still, that was just fantasy. Her naughty little secret. It could
never happen in real life.

Then again, maybe it could…

One minute she's sleeping in her bed, the next she's dragged into the
world of her favorite author's imagination. And those sinfully
gorgeous fallen angels are about to make her darkest fantasies
reality. She'd never dreamed it was possible, that she could surrender
to her secret desires.

Ohhhh, the wanton pleasure…

Excerpt
Kaitlin woke up to a soft caress. A man's hands gently lifted her hair
off her neck and massaged her shoulders.

On her stomach, eyes closed, she smiled and just let herself wallow in
luxury for a few minutes. Whoever that was -- Cayne or Ronan -- he had
magical hands. Finally, she broke the silence. "I could get used to
this. Hmmm, that feels good."

"You'll be getting used to a lot of good things." It was Cayne's
voice, husky and sensual, barely above a whisper. "Time for your first
session. This way." His hands skimmed down one of her arms until he
reached her fingertips. He twined his fingers through hers and pulled.
"Are you still dizzy?"

"Not so much anymore." She swung her legs over the side of the bed,
slipped to her feet, and padded barefoot behind Cayne down the hall.
She was feeling pretty darn relaxed, until they reached $that room$.
She couldn't help hesitating at the door.

The dungeon was one scary place, and she was none too eager to go in
there. But Cayne shot her a look over his shoulder that told her she
wasn't going to avoid it, no matter what she did.

Resigned, she stepped over the threshold but went no further. Her
knees felt like Jell-O, kind of wiggly-jiggly and her heart was racing
at a zillion beats per second.

The equipment looked like torture devices. She certainly didn't
remember the heroine in that novel being tortured, at least not in a
bad way. One thing was for sure -- bondage stuff looked a whole lot
less sexy, and a whole lot more scary -- in real life, versus in the
pages of a book.

Cayne kicked a foot up on a piece of furniture that looked like a
weight bench made out of wood. "Before long, you'll come to look
forward to our daily sessions in here."

$Daily?

She wasn't sure how to feel about that, yet.

Cayne dropped his foot to the ground and headed for a shelf on the
wall, loaded with bondage stuff. "In this room, we will train you to
serve us. As our submissive. We will use various forms of reward and
punishment to shape your behavior."

Shape her behavior. Like a freaking dog.

Again, it sounded a whole helluva lot sexier in a book, in $the book
her captors had come from.

Wasn't it enough for her to deal with the possibility that she'd been
seized by fictional characters and dragged into their make-believe
world? Why did they have to push this on her too? It was too much, too
soon.

"Have you ever fantasized about being tied up? Dominated?" Cayne asked.

She shook her head. "Not before I read $Her Dark Knights$."

"Do you still remember the story?" Holding something in his hands, he
strolled toward her. His body was loose and relaxed, nonthreatening.
His eyes were much more intense. And his expression -- hungry lion on
the prowl. "Do you remember how it made you feel?"

"I'm… parts of it I remember. Others I've forgotten. I guess being
here is making me confused or something."

He stopped directly in front of her, and she saw up close what he'd
been holding. It was a whippy looking thingy with a thick handle and
dozens of long strands of animal fur.

Soft fur. That would probably feel pretty good gliding over her back.
Tickly.

"Do you remember reading about the heroine's first time in the
dungeon?" He combed through the strands, and she stared at his hand,
admiring his long, tapered fingers. They were strong, large masculine
hands, but also very attractive. A little quiver skittered up her
spine and tingly heat swept down her legs.

"Not the details. I remember getting to that part and not wanting to
stop. I also recall thinking it was exciting, in a strange way."

"Strange how?" He moved closer still, until the heat radiating off his
huge body filled the thin pocket of air between them. He raised the
end of that whip to her face, skimmed it down the side and then pushed
against her chin, forcing her head up until her gaze met his. "Tell
me, bride."

"I -- it's hard to explain."

"Let me try." Dropping the whip, he circled around her side, stopping
directly behind her. "You found the scene darkly sensual," he
whispered, his breath caressing her neck and giving rise to a full
coat of goose bumps. "Both a little uncomfortable but also very arousing."

"Yes, uncomfortable and arousing." She remembered now. She'd literally
felt like she was going to melt as she'd read that first bondage
scene. The book's character, the heroine, had been both scared and
turned on at the same time. That bizarre mix of emotions had totally
set her off. There'd been no way she could have put that book down
after that.

Strong fingers walked up her neck, over her scalp, rubbed her temples.
Mmmm, nice.

She closed her eyes, not totally at ease but getting closer. The
slight edge of apprehension still tugging at her insides made every
sensation -- Cayne's every touch and word -- more intense. More
sensual. "As you read, you imagined yourself in the character's place,
standing nervously, waiting to see what her new Master would do next.
It was sexy and exciting because you knew you were safe, that it was
only a book."

"Yes." She dragged in a deep breath.

"But now it's not just a book, and you're not so safe," he whispered
against her neck. His teeth grazed her skin, and she flinched, one
side of her body going tight. "The fear is real. But so is the
arousal." One of his hands smoothed around her body, stopping on her
abdomen, just below her breast. His fingers splayed and he gently
pulled her against him until her entire backside was crushed against
the hard bulk of his body.

A great review of Dark Master!

Anytime I receive a review, I'm honored, whether it comes from a reader who went to Amazon, ordered my book and read it, or from a reviewer who received the book for free in exchange for a review. Either way, I'm flattered and grateful.

But I am even more thrilled when I learn another writer, someone whose work I've read and enjoyed, has bought my book, read it, and posted a review. Like this author: Jennifer Leeland.

She writes, "...she knows how to reach for the emotion that makes her stories so imminently readable." and "What I love about this story is that Shadow is this angsty dark guy who has to court smart ass heroine Regan but doesn’t have a clue...In the bedroom, Shadow doesn’t fumble at all. He drives Regan to the brink of insanity with his touch and, as the reader, I go right along with her." and "nobody writes hot, erotic, heart-pounding sex like Tawny Taylor."

I am touched, honored, positively giddy.

Thank you, Jennifer!

Woot! Just typed The End!

I just finished one of the most intense, disturbingly emotional books I've ever written. This is the first book in a new series for Changeling Press. The series title, Savage Garden, kind of gives you a feel for the tone. The book title is Flesh to Flesh.

I gotta admit, that was a HARD book to write. But I'm hoping readers will love it. It's a paranormal gay erotic romance about a man who is cursed for making a huge mistake. I won't tell you any more, just in case the story is hugely changed in revisions. But that's it in a nutshell. It was hard, emotionally draining, but I hope oh so worth it. I guess I'll know in August/September, when the book releases!

Speaking of dark romances, has anyone else noticed how dark paranormal romances are getting lately? I'm reading Gena Showalter's Darkest Night now. Loving it, but man, those guys are rough and cruel and hard. What are your thoughts on this dark turn in romance? Love that kind of book? Hate it?

If you could be kidnapped by any man, who would it be?

I ask this question because I have a series of books published by Changeling Press about women who fall in love with the heroes (the books are menage-a-trois) of their favorite romance novels.

The first book, Wild Nights, is about two men who shape-shift into large felines.

The second, Wicked Nights is about two vampires.

And here's the blurb for the third book (Wanton Nights), which releases in ebook format on May 29:

Ohhhh, the wanton pleasure…

I'd love to write more of these stories. They're super sexy and a lot of fun. I'm looking for some ideas/inspiration for the next story. So, I ask again: If you could be kidnapped by any man, who would it be? Anyone want to share?

It's Hump Day

Blog world's kind of quiet today. No crap is being slung...although a certain blogger's posting about a publisher who's gone MIA...who isn't MIA...or rather, is hiding behind a pseudonym, or two. It seems that's pretty common these days: people taking on a fake name, or two, or three. But I have no interest whatsoever in commenting on that.

Instead, I guess I'll talk about reality TV. Why not, right?

Last night, I watched the final episode of The Bachelor on my computer (yeah, I know, I was a day late) while simultaneously watching the Dancing with the Stars Semi Final results show.

First, I'm not convinced Matt from England picked the right girl. Time will tell. The guys on that show tend to get it wrong. Just look at the show's history. Not one couple yet has made it long term (strictly talking about The Bachelor, not The Bachelorette). So, why do I watch?!

Second, I was not shocked by the results on DWTS. Marissa is a doll, and she's quite the performer, but she wasn't at the same level as the other stars.

And third, I was absolutely floored by the teens who danced to Phantom of the Opera. OMG, if America doesn't vote for them, I'll be pissed. Cute kids are wonderful. I love cute kids as much as the next girl, but those teens are beyond great. They're extraordinarily talented.

Tonight, I'll be watching Farmer Wants a Wife. The show is cheesier than my kids' favorite snack foods, but it's plain fun. I can't resist watching a pack of princesses in stilettos chasing bulls and chickens, LOL. I'm sad to see Josie go, though. She was the princess to end all princesses. The girl wouldn't lift a hand, asked about maid service, and refused to leave without her parting gift. But she knew how to stir up the crap and get it flying, LOL. Smart girl. She knew how to get her camera time :)

Off to take the 3-year old to gymnastics. Later!

BelleBooks Inc. Launches New Imprint

From Bell Bridge Books blog:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Debra Dixon here, Publisher for BelleBooks, Inc. We're an established advance and royalty paying publisher. Been around about 9 years. BelleBooks.com
We're opening a new imprint for fantasy, dark fantasy, urban fantasy. Because this is new for us and not the normal fiction we have in our list, we'll do this under a new imprint--Bell Bridge Books
Some of you may have seen me speak at DragonCon over the years in the Writer's Track. It's always a zoo there but I'm normally on multiple panels and occasionally do workshops on-- GMC: Goal, Motivation and Conflict or Hero's Journey.
But back to you. The slots are few. We'll be picky, but you are invited to send a query letter regarding FINISHED and previous unpublished manuscripts. Advances will be small, but there will be advances.
At the moment we don't even have the new website up for the fantasy imprint, so just send your queries to:
BelleBooks @ BelleBooks.com
Please do pass this invitation along to other writers who might be interested.
--Debra Dixon
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I love the romance genre, including romance/fantasy, But that's not what we're looking for here at Bell Bridge. There are so many fine publishers covering the romance angle; what we hope to do, instead, is explore edgier, darker, more mainstream themes.
Bell Bridge will be a place to pull out all the stops and dare to think outside the box. Other than that guideline, we're flexible. We're happy to take a look at any type of fantasy submission (except fantasy with a primary romance theme.) We prefer shorter, not longer books. By "not longer" I mean anything much over 100,000 words. Since we're definitely interested in developing series, that mongo-big manuscript you want to send might work for us if you divide it into two novels. Just saying.
We plan to publish all Bell Bridge titles in both ebook and POD formats. We sell our current ebook editions via Fictionwise.com but will soon be adding the Amazon Kindle format to the mix. Our POD partner is Lighting Source, a division of the giant wholesaler, Ingram Books. If you've ever seen a book printed by Lightning Source --which produces POD editions for some of the biggest publishers in the world -- you know that the finished book is a very high-quality product. Nothing "quickie" about the look. These are editions all authors and publishers can present proudly to their readers.
In addition, select Bell Bridge titles may be produced as audio books. BelleBooks Audio is just in its start-up phase; we hope to launch five audiobooks (from existing BelleBooks titles) by this fall, with more to come.
We are only accepting queries and manuscripts by email these days. I welcome the chance to talk to authors about their projects. Send me your queries at bellebooks@bellebooks.com or debbsmith @aol.com.
Welcome to Bell Bridge! Our motto is going to be: "Great fiction. Any place. Any where. Any time. Come with."
Deb Smith
Editorial
Sounds fabulous! And check out the sample covers they've posted. Absolutely gorgeous. I'm anxious to see how successful this imprint becomes.
This Weekend's Mother's Day...
...and I'm going to eat.
Well, that's what I'm telling myself right now, as I set here eating a salad with no dressing, some egg whites and a half a cucumber.
That's about all Mother's Day means to me. A yummy dinner from my fave steakhouse.
My mother and I had a falling out years ago. My grandmother, who treated me like a daughter, died quite some time ago. And no matter what date it says on the calendar, there are always dirty dishes to wash, messes to clean, school projects to complete, and laundry to do. It's just not that big of a deal.
What about you? Doing anything extra special for Mother's Day? Or is it just another Sunday to you too?
Cerridwen Press is Looking for YA Submissions
I just received the news firsthand from Raelene Gorlinsky, Publisher of Ellora's Cave and Cerridwen Press. Cerridwen, the non-erotic branch of the Ellora's/Cerridwen/Lotus Circle family is acquiring YA novels.
See the information below, which is forwarded with permission:
"...There is now a
"Young Adult Interest" category in the sidebar list on the site. (It
works like themes at EC - there is still a main genre, but then this
additional flag is added.) These are mainly fantasies and sweet romances
that involve young characters."
Summing up, Cerridwen Press isn't planning on launching e a separate line or imprint for YA, but they will be publishing YA books, listing the books under their genre (paranormal/fantasy/contemporary/etc), and adding a YA flag, to indicate they may appeal younger readers.
"We are looking for YA-appropriate Cerridwen submissions, especially
paranormal/fantasy/vampire, which is the hot market in YA right now.
Preference is for books that adults would also enjoy (lots of adults
read YA), so not too "childish" in outlook. We are aiming for the teen
level, not middle-grades. Requirements are no descriptive sexual content
(although it can be alluded to, can be obvious that it occurs) and that
the main characters be teens or early twenties. Consider what it is that
would interest a teen reader."
YA submissions should follow the normal format (from the Ellora's Cave Submissions page): Send a detailed synopsis (2 to 5 pages describing setting and main characters and outlining full plot, including resolution), the first three chapters and the final chapter of your manuscript via email as an attached file (doc or rtf format) to Submissions@ellorascave.com.
Thought I'd pass on the news.
A Little Pioneer Girl
As some of you may know, I'm a bit of a costume geek (*mild* understatement). So, of course, when my kids have to dress up for any school event, Halloween, etc., I tend to go a smidge overboard.
This time, it was my daughter's field trip to a pioneer school. And I think I did a terrific job of reigning myself in. But I ask you, what mother could resist dressing her little girl like a big Holly Hobby doll? Not this one!
Now, I must point out that this child is normally running around, her hair a tangled wreck, wearing dirty jeans and t-shirts (she can't stay clean for more than five minutes). She's a tomboy through and through. Not a girly bone in her body.
I thought she might give me a fight, but she actually seems to like dressing up.
Say, maybe she'll wear a dress or skirt every now and then! A mom can dream, right?
Or maybe she'll catch the costume bug like I did.
Ironically, it was a field trip just like this one (I was about 8 years old at the time) that gave me the costuming bug. There was something exciting, magical, about dressing in clothes from days-gone-by. It wasn't until years later, when I discovered the Renaissance Festival, that I found an outlet for my historical costume fixation. But from the time I was eight, I was a costume geek. And I seized every opportunity to dress in garb as I could. Plays and musicals. Halloween. Whatever.
What about you? Do you remember a special event at school (or during your childhood) that changed you somehow?
A Reader-Reviewer Wants To Try Out My Hero
This morning, Google Alert notified me of a new review posted for Dark Master on the internet. Being the nosy author I am (or masochist, as the case may be), I just had to take a look. The review is posted HERE.
First, I'm hugely flattered by the fact that this reader/blogger bought my book and took the time to write down her thoughts.
And second, the review is so amusing, in a good way, that I had a smile on my face all day long. And since I had to go grocery shopping (one of my least favorite things in the world to do) that's saying something!
Thank you, Rayna!
I also received notification that my EC Quickie, Double Take, was reviewed by A Romance Review. As an author who works hard to represent the BDSM lifestyle in a way that is not misleading while focusing on the romantic elements of Master/slave or Dom/submissive relationships, it's wonderful to hear compliments like "Ms. Taylor will give you the glimpse and some psychology into someone venturing into the lifestyle for the first time and what they should expect from it."
She *got* it! I am ecstatic! Thank you Pam, for the wonderful review!
What a terrific way to start the weekend. Two fabulous reviews :)
Thank you again, Pam and Rayna!
Another Diva Read to Drool Over
Since I'm guess blogging over at Gemma Halliday's Killer Fiction blog today, I thought I'd post a quick promo for a Diva friend here. I have to say, there is an unbelievable amount of talent on the Romance Divas. Absolutely unbelievable.
Check out Secrets of Summer by Tara S. Nichols. (Great title, BTW!)
Things aren't always as they seem. Convinced she was the ugly duckling in a gaggle of swans, Pyper discovers that her childhood crush has had some fantasies of his own. Amidst the threat of losing everything she holds dear she learns that sometimes a crush can become a reality.
Book covers
Secrets of Summer
by Tara S Nichols
Coming soon to http://www.cobblestone-press.com/catalog/a...htm
It has been years since Pyper has seen any sign of Liam Patterson so she is surprised when he reappears outside his old stomping grounds. More surprising is when he addresses her by her name. By the looks of Liam very little had changed about the beach loving playboy. He was just as handsome and just as flirtatious, although it never was her he had been flirting with, until now. As their secrets unravel both summer residents are faced with the thought of never returning to Victoria Beach, the place where their fantasies began.
Available April 18th from Cobblestone-press!
Whatcha doing this weekend?
It's Friday. Yay! The start of a weekend.
Now, I don't work outside the home, so the weekend isn't that big of a deal for me. In fact, in some ways, weekends are crazier. The kids are all home from school. The house gets trashed. The kids bicker. It's impossible to write...you get the idea, right?
But still, every Friday, I think about the weekend and imagine it's going to be two days of relaxation and fun. I guess it's a vestige from my full-time-day-job days :-)
This weekend, I'll be writing (no surprise there, right?). Grocery shopping (ugh!) And doing some fun stuff. I'll be a guest blogger on Gemma Halliday's Killer Fiction blog (along with Emily Ryan-Davis). We'll be talking about bad fashion choices, LOL. (If you're online head on over for a giggle) And I'll be finishing up my daughter's costume for her upcoming field trip with school. She's wearing an 1880's prairie girl outfit. Bonnet. Dress. Apron. Soooooo cute! It's like dressing a big Holly Hobby doll :-)
I can't resist. Here's a picture.
Let me just say, the bonnet was easier to make than I expected. HUGE sigh of relief there. The child-sized dress doesn't exactly fit on my adult-sized dress form, but it gives you some idea of what it looks like so far. I still have buttons to sew, trim to apply and I need to hem the dress.
So what about you? Any big plans this weekend? Going to do something fun?
