In the market for an e-reader?

Your choices are about to EXPAND!

A cascade of e-readers will hit the market this year, taking the devices far beyond gray-scale screens with features like touch navigation and video chatting — and probably lowering prices, too.

If you own an e-reader and would like to share what you like/dislike about it, I welcome you to comment! I'd love to hear the benefits and drawbacks (first hand) to all the readers currently on the market.

Personally, I've read on a Dell Axim (palm computer). It handled MS reader files nicely, but I became distracted by having to turn the page every few sentences. It was tolerable for short reads, novellas and short stories. I couldn't handle it for longer works. The backlit screen was nice when I wanted to read in a dark room, but it also drained the battery relatively quickly, limiting the amount of time I could read before I had to plug it in for a re-charge.

I just ordered a Nook and can't wait for it to get here. I've heard some good things and bad things about it. I'm anxious to get my hands on it and see for myself how well it runs (or doesn't as the case may be). I'll definitely post a mini-review and let you know what I think. Won't be able to comment on the technical specifics, since I don't know anything about that stuff. Want to read more techy reviews of ereaders, check out this blog.

I'm officially middle-aged...

...I bought my first pair of BIFOCALS!

The lenses, however, are in these rocking hot frames by DKNY. Tortoise shell on the outside and teal on the inside.

I may have to face some realities (like I'll never again be able to do a back-walkover without putting myself in the hospital), but I refuse to dress my age :)

Taking a Casual Poll

I'm brainstorming some new ideas for future projects and wanted to get a rough idea of the appeal of the below topics/story lines. Please note: the books would be EROTIC. Would you like to read a story that was:

1. Gay western (m/m)
2. Gay cop (again, m/m)
3. werewolf
4. fem domme (man submits to a woman)
5. lesbian elements/sex scenes f/f

Why or why not?

I would LOVE to hear your thoughts! Please comment.

Quote of the Week

A book is the only place in which you can examine a fragile thought without breaking it, or explore an explosive idea without fear it will go off in your face. It is one of the few havens remaining where a man's mind can get both provocation and privacy. ~Edward P. Morgan

Will be a new grandma VERY soon!

It's the start of a new year, and we're on baby watch here in Tawny Taylor world. My daughter is expecting her second child any time now. She's headed out to see her OB today, expecting to be induced either today or tomorrow morning (depends upon how much she's progressed). Prayers, good thoughts, etc. for a safe delivery would be appreciated.

Thanks!
Tawny
